Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
- General Commitment
Acta Medica Young Doctors is committed to adhering to ethical principles at every stage of the publication process and to applying these principles with the utmost care. All our stakeholders—authors, reviewers, editors—are aware of their ethical responsibilities and fulfill them with diligence.
- Publication Ethics and Standards
Our journal is a reputable academic platform based on scientific integrity, originality, honesty, and fair publication processes. During the publication process, any malpractice such as plagiarism, data manipulation, and author label irregularities are strictly evaluated, and when detected, steps in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines are immediately implemented.
- Use of Human and Animal Test Subjects
In studies involving humans and animals, compliance with international ethical standards (e.g., the Declaration of Helsinki, applicable guidelines, and principles of good practice) is mandatory. Authors must clearly state the ethical approval of the study, the informed consent obtained, and the name and approval number of the ethics committee.
- Privacy and Confidentiality
Patient data should be presented in an anonymized form and subject to adequate protection. If identifying information is included, written consent should be obtained from the individuals concerned prior to publication, and this consent should be published.
- Refereeing Process and Editorial Responsibility
In the preliminary review stage, submissions are examined for compliance with ethical norms. In the second stage, a double-blind peer review process is conducted; where necessary, support from a biostatistician is sought for statistical accuracy and methodological clarity. The final decision is made by the editors, and additional documentation or clarification is requested when necessary.
- Ethical Nonconformity Situations
If non-compliance with ethical rules is detected, corrective action, withdrawal (retraction), or appropriate corrective measures are taken in accordance with COPE principles. When necessary, a clear statement is made to the public.
- Openness, Transparency, and Accessibility
Our journal prioritizes transparency in its ethical processes. Publication policies, processes, and ethical guidelines are openly available to all stakeholders on our website. Our communication channels are always open for those seeking support or information on ethical issues.
